It is true that laminates can withstand temperature and humidity excesses much better than solid woods. As noted in our maintenance manual, excessive dryness and extreme temperatures variations may cause cracks and finish problems. The Ameritage humidity control accessory is highly recommended for the ST, SW, and K series and will double your Wood Song warranty. If you include this humidifier in your case, and give it regular attention, the likelihood of problems decreases dramatically.
